County Seat:
History: Davidson County (formed in 1783 from Washington County, Tennessee) was named after General William Lee Davidson. The county seat was named Nashville after General Francis Nash. A portion of Davidson became Sumner County in 1787, and another portion of Davidson became Tennessee County in 1799. Part of Davidson became Williamson County in 1799.
